PinTradr Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 3, 2026
Who we are: PinTradr is made by Thrift App LLC ("we", "us"). Contact: trent@thriftapp.online
PinTradr helps pin traders catalog collections, log trades and see what pins are worth. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Account
- Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code. If you later sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email (or Apple's private relay address) and an account ID from them.
What you add to the app
- Your collection: pins, quantities, condition, dates, prices paid, notes and photos you take or choose.
- Your wishlist, ISO list and trade log, including where and with whom you traded (for example "Cast Member" or a park).
- Your private values for your own pins, and daily snapshots of your portfolio total.
- Price reports you share (what a pin traded or sold for).
- Scrapper reports you share (the warning signs you ticked and any notes).
- Pins you submit to the catalog, including the photo.
Scans
- When you scan a pin, the photo is sent to our server and to Google (see below) to find matching pins. The scan photo is not stored. We keep a record that a scan happened, the top match, and how close it was, to improve matching.
Technical
- Basic logs needed to run the service (for example error messages and request times) kept by our hosting providers. We do not use advertising IDs, analytics SDKs or tracking across other apps and websites.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your collection, sync it between your devices, and calculate values.
- To build shared community data: price reports feed the public estimated value for each pin; scrapper reports feed the per-pin report counts.
- To keep the catalog accurate: moderators review submitted pins and reports.
- To keep the service safe and working: preventing abuse (for example daily limits) and fixing bugs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What other people can see
- Private to you: your collection, photos, notes, prices paid, private values, wishlist, ISO list, trade log and portfolio.
- Shared with other signed-in users: price reports (combined into public estimates; your name isn't shown), scrapper reports (counts, ticked signs and notes; your name isn't shown), and pins you submit once approved, including their photo.
- Moderators can see submissions and reports to review them.
Service providers
We use a few providers to run PinTradr. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage, server functions), hosted in the United States.
- Resend, to send sign-in code emails.
- Google (Gemini API), to match scan photos and suggest names for new pins. We use Google's paid API tier, where Google does not use the content to improve its products.
- eBay: to show live asking prices we send eBay the pin's name and set only, never any information about you.
- Apple and Google, if you choose to sign in with them.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted right away (see below). Copies in our hosting provider's routine backups are removed as those backups expire. Daily price history for a pin is kept because it's combined data, not about you.
Your choices and rights
- Edit or delete anything you added, at any time, in the app.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account. This deletes your collection, photos, notes, wishlist, ISO list, trade log, private values, portfolio history, price reports, scrapper reports and pins still waiting for review. Pins you submitted that were approved stay in the shared catalog without your name.
- Get a copy or ask a question: email trent@thriftapp.online. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to complain to a regulator. We'll respond within the time the law requires.
Children
PinTradr is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Each user's private data is protected by database rules so only they can read it. Server keys never ship inside the app. No system is perfect, so please use a unique email account you control.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app before significant changes take effect (for example before turning on ads).
